Method and source

What it measures: daily page views of its English Wikipedia article. Source: Wikimedia Pageviews REST API, read daily with per-article daily pageviews, access=all-access, agent=user, summed over the entity's article titles. The headline number is the 7-day average, so one busy day does not swing it. Changes compare like with like: the latest value against the value 30 days and a year earlier. "Usual move" is the median size of this signal's weekly moves over the past year.

Daily views of the English Wikipedia articles Stripe (company) and Stripe, Inc., summed per day (an article keeps the views of its old title as a redirect, so the sum is continuous across the rename). Agent type user, all access methods. A day with no row from a title counts as zero for that title.

Open data (CC0). Wikimedia asks for a descriptive User-Agent; we send one and keep to a few requests per second.
