Delta water flows
Social Capital's map drew 4.3M views on X: 24x its typical post and #2 of 41 Social Capital charts we track by views. Read Oct 10, 2026.
.@POTUS is right.
Why it spread
This post spread because it came from a big source and the chart explains itself, with 54,512 likes, 17,965 reposts, 866 quotes, 6,304 saves wiped out by 4,268,998 views, which is 50.4x the account's typical likes of 1,082.
What worked
- The post came from a big source, so it reached the top quarter of source reach and far exceeded the account's normal performance.
- The chart explains itself, with high self labelling, so viewers understood the message without extra context.
- The framing is simple and direct: almost 30 million cubic acres of water, only 23% to productive use, and a staggering 77% to the ocean.
What to borrow
We could use the same form or framing with our own data by pairing a clear map with a plain spoken split, such as the share that reached productive use against the share that did not.
Careful
Do not copy the low design polish or over read the quote rate, which was below average, and do not treat the account's 50.4x lift as something our own charts would automatically get.
Written by our analysis model from the measured numbers above, not by Social Capital.
